Additional Notes | P. May 2009. Formerly within bungalow containing two bodies at Quedgeley, Gloucestershire (see additional photos below). This one is a 12ft section of a 4-wheel passenger brake. Reported 04/14 that "16/7" found on the one surviving original door - suggested that this is door 7 of coach No. 16 (further thoughts welcomed!). 27/06/2018: moved from Swindon and Cricklade Railway to Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway - at Blaenavon Furnace Sidings. It will be restored as a birdcage brake to run in the Railway's Vintage Train. NLR birdcage brakes and compartment stock were cascaded to South Wales once their lines were electrified. This vehicle will have the small conversion of a passenger compartment to allow both wheelchair users and families with buggies/prams to travel in comfort, conversions to passenger accommodation being made to some when the large gas balloon used to fuel the train lighting was discontinued (this balloon was inside a flap at the end which is still in place). The restoration has to take a bit of a back seat while other projects are finished, but the Railway is actively looking for an ex-LMS type XP-rated wagon chassis (with J hangers and eye bolts with loop eyed springs and vac fitted).
